Description

The Daehremmah are amphibians with very widely-set eyes in an upper mini-skull. Their mouth and brain are in a lower skull. They are well-adapted to life out of the water, thanks to some tough breaks in their evolutionary history that forced them out of the receding swamps on their home-world Daehre.

Speculation

Daehremmah is hammerhead spelled backwards. The author admits that this is both a tribute to the Hammerhead character in Mos Eisley[1] cantina in Star Wars, and a nod to David Drake's Hammer's Slammers[2] series.
